A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MISS HELEN J. MCDADE FOR HER MANY YEARS OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO KEMPER COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI.
WHEREAS, Miss Helen J. McDade has been a lifelong resident of Kemper County, Mississippi, where she has worked in the legal field for over fifty years; and
WHEREAS, Miss McDade began her career as a legal secretary and court reporter in Kemper County; and
WHEREAS, in July 1947, Miss McDade was admitted to the practice of law before the courts of the State of Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, representing the citizens of Kemper County, Miss McDade was elected to the Mississippi House of Representatives, where she faithfully served from 1968 to 1980; and
WHEREAS, Miss McDade, County Prosecuting Attorney since September 1992, has won justice for the victims and families of Kemper County by prosecuting and obtaining convictions for numerous criminals; and
WHEREAS, in June 1998, Miss McDade was dutifully recognized by the Mississippi Bar for her outstanding service in the legal profession in the State of Mississippi for over fifty years; and
WHEREAS, the House of Representatives finds it most appropriate to pay special tribute to such an outstanding citizen as Miss Helen J. McDade, who has served the citizens of Kemper County, Mississippi, to the best of her ability in carrying out her many duties of public service in the legal profession for over fifty years:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Miss Helen J. McDade on the many professional accomplishments of her career and extend to her our appreciation for her many years of dedicated service to the citizens of Kemper County and the State of Mississippi.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Miss Helen J. McDade and the Capitol Press Corps.
